When everyone around you is filled with so much intolerable pain, it can start to seem like weak self-pity to have any pain of your own. When other people need so much, it can start to feel like it’s careless to ask them to help you with your own needs, too. But suppressing yourself like this never works for long. Consider, instead, that we are all each other’s tasks, and each other’s best supports. This is a week for leaning on other people, so that they can lean back on you too.
